On a cool winter evening, we ventured into a city park for a walk with our son and his beautiful girlfriend. In the glow of the soft lights, we made shadow puppets as we did when the kids were young. Before long the young couple came up with a new one, and together they joined their arms and constructed a heart. With him on one side and her on the other, the two merged into one shadow to convey a feeling. The lengthened shadows in the dim light painted a beautiful picture. Yet, the shadows portrayed only distorted sense of the reality of the actual scene.

An intangible emotion cannot be captured on film as a reality can. Rather, something as elusive as love is described with grand words, represented with symbols or acted out with thoughtfulness.
